Obituary - Our loving wife and mother returned to her Heavenly Father, August 21, 2002.
She was born Nov 17, 1924 in Kanab, UT to Myrtle Kirkham and Alvah Fitzgerald. Miriam lived in Kanab and Provo, then moved to Shelley, ID. She later returned to Utah, living in Lehi, Cedar City, and Ephraim. Graduated as a Registered Nurse from LDS Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She married Arthur A. Callister Jr., in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Jan 30, 1947. Together, they resided in Salt Lake City, Granger, South Jordan, and Alpine.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Miriam taught Primary classes for more than 20 years, was a teacher in the Relief Society, and was also a visiting teacher. She loved and cherished her dear family and extended family. God, family, home, country, and so many kind friends were dear to her heart.
She is survived by her children, Edward (Debra), Mary Ann and David (Nikki); son-in-law, Neil (LuAnne); grandchildren, Mellissa, Josh, Dan, Emily, Megan, Rachel, Sam, Katrina, Jackie, Denise, Wendy; two great grandchildren; siblings, Sherman, Martha Taylor, Ann Doyle, Myrtle Munk; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her son, Allan; daughters, Joan Callister, Linda Capener; and brother, Don.
A funeral will be Mon. Aug 26, 11 a.m., Lone Peak Ward, 30 N. Matterhorn Dr, Alpine. Friends may call Sun. 6-8 p.m., Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery, N St. and 3rd Ave. Directors, Redwood Memorial Mortuary.
