Shortly after Maria passed away, Charles sold the family farm. Charles was living with his sister, Maria Lawrence in Manachester Depot at the time of his death. The Bennington Evening Banner, in announcing is death on September 29th said "Mr. Farnum was a quiet man always pleasant and kindly to meet and will be missed by all who knew him."
