PORTSMOUTH - ERNEST LUTHER EURE, 83, of the 4200 block of Hatton Point Rd. passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. He was born March 28, 1929 in Portsmouth to the late Cecil Ernest and Nebraska I. Eure. He was a proud U. S. Navy veteran, a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and a member of Elizabeth Manor County Club and the Ambassadors Club. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda E. Humphreys. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Harrell Eure; a daughter, Terry Eure Smith and husband Moody; three grandchildren: Chuck Barnes, Christian Riley and Ashley Savage; and two great-grandchildren: Charles A. Barnes and Aurora Ann Riley.
A funeral servce was Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 in St. Andrews UMC by Dr. Dan Phillips Abbott. Burial followed in Oliver Branch Cemetery.
