Springfield - Lucile Brunson Durden, 86, died Sunday at Effingham County Hospital after a long illness. The Bulloch County native lived in Brooklet most of her life before moving to Effingham County five years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brooklet.
Survivors include two daughters, Margie Elizabeth Brinson, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Sara Alice Jimmerson, Griffin; three sons, John L. Durden Jr., Rincon, Robert H. Durden, Savannah, and George D. Durden, Griffin; a sister, Viola Rocker, Birmingham, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wenesday at 11 a.m. at the Hodges-Turner Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Howard Alford officiating. Burial will be in Brooklet City Cemetery.
