Contrary to the years of falshoods and misinformation even in printed family histories, Henry Downs did not marry Lady Jane Douglas of Scotland. I have researched this lady, and she died in Scotland and did not marry any Downs.
HOWEVER according to church records Henry Downs married Jane Mead:
