Emma Jean Dodson Baker was born August 31, 1934 to Lewis and Gertrude Jane (Dick) Dodson. She departed this life on April 30, 2014 reaching 79 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Willis Mitchell Baker on February 15, 1949. To this union three children were born: Kathleen (David) Coffey, Mitchell Ray (Mary) Baker, and Debrah Irvine.

In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandchildren: David Leslie Coffey, Alisha (David) Morgan, David Willis Irvine, and Jennifer (Chris) Powel. She was also blessed with 2 great grandchildren who were the enjoyment of her life: Jacob Morgan and her Katy-Bug, Katelyn Crabtree. She also leaves behind one very special uncle to her, Vernon Dick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell on June 19, 1987 and her son-in-law, David Irvine on January 12, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Gertie Dodson; and her brothers, Leonard, Wendell Ray, and Quentin Dodson.

She was employed by Monticello Mfg. Co. for over 30 years. She also worked at Dishman's Personal Care Home. In addition to this, she sat and cared for the elderly in their homes.

She was known especially for her love of cooking and baking for her family and friends. She loved living on the farm watching the deer and wild turkey.

She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

She has many other loved ones including cousins and friends who will mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 4, 2014 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Baker Cemetery.
