Esther E. Brosmer, 77, of 1302 Caroline St. died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1996, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.

Born Sept. 19, 1918, in Braceville to Ernest H. and Amanda L. Watson Davy, she married Fred L. Brosmer on May 3, 1942, in Gardner. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Suellyn Peck of Pekin; one son, Gregory K. of Peoria; one brother, E. Charles Davy of Morris; and four grandchildren.

She graduated from Brokaw Hospital School of Nursing in Normal in 1939. A registered nurse, she worked at Pekin Hospital and also did private nursing. She was a volunteer at the American Red Cross. She formerly worked for Drs. Wherry and Warner in Pekin. She helped in the American Distillery disaster.

She was a former member of the Illinois Nurses Association and was a charter member and former president and secretary of Pekin Registered Nurses Club.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and its Corona Circle. She also taught Sunday school at the church and was a member of the church council. She was a member of Celestial Chapter 333 Order of Eastern Star for 49 years.

Entombment will be in Lakeside Mausoleum.
