Nellie Ruth Davison Rosenthal Borgfeld, 83, of Port Arthur, Texas, departed this life Tuesday, January 14, 2014, in Groves, Texas.

She was born October 21, 1930, in Old Salem, Texas to H.A. and Linnie Davison and was the ninth of twelve children.

Miss Nell or MiMi, as she was known to family and friends came to Port Arthur as a young woman and established herself in the restaurant business. She operated the Southerner and Village Café in Port Arthur for many years. Nell will fondly be remembered for her love of people and the many lives she touched as she sheltered and fed countless family, friends and anyone who needed help.

She is survived by one son, Alex Rosenthal and his wife, Christina; three daughters, Kathleen Phillips and her husband, Tim, Betty Bacon and her husband, Danny, and Donnah Borgfeld Perez and her husband, Carlos. Nell also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her two surviving sisters, Sally Navarre and Francine Walston and her husband, Ray; as well as many special nieces, nephews and extended family.

Miss Nell is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Borgfeld; and nine of her siblings.

Burial: Trout Creek Cemetery, FM 1004, Call, Texas.
