Alberta F. Davis, 63, (always seen with a smile) of Cottonwood Manor Nursing Home died at 5:24 a.m. Wednesday. Alberta had brain damage and polio during her toddler years which she lived with until her death. Until her mother could no longer take care of her, Alberta was put into a nursing home and then when her mother could no longer live by herself both of them shared the same room in the same nursing home until Alberta's mother passed away.
Born in North Vernon, Jennings, Indiana, to George Edwin Davis and Mary Luella (Campfield) Davis Stout. Surviving are sisters: Grace Hollingsworth of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mary Louise Kuhlkin of New York; brothers: Henry Joseph Davis of North Vernon, Indiana; Arthur Lawrence Davis of Columbus, Indiana; and Clarence Edward Stout of Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Alberta was preceded in death by her mother Mary Luella (Campfield) Davis Stout and father George Edwin Davis, also brother Isaac William Davis.
Alberta was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Bunet officiating. There was no calling hours and Myers Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Alberta was buried beside her mother.

The headstone name is wrong it is not Elberta (birth and death records state Alberta). Alberta's name is not Stout she was a Davis until her death.

There is a discrepancy on her birth date. Although it says 1930 on her death certificate and headstone the Catholic Church records have her born in 1931 and in 1933 when her siblings were taken to the Vincennes Orphanage she was only 15 months old.
