Shirley was born in Lenore, to Alfred S. Hollingsworth and Ruth M. Lee.
She attended grade school in Lenore, middle school in Lapwai and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1950. As a young girl, she loved ranch life at Lenore. She rode horses and picked flowers and berries. She loved the outdoors and to trout fish. Shirley loved this country.
Shirley and Dwight E. Culdice were married June 11, 1950, in Lewiston, at her parents' home. They lived in Lewiston and Genesee from 1950 to 1972, moved to Grangeville and lived there until 1992. They then moved to Lewiston and were living there at the time of her death. Mom was a wonderful homemaker and took care of her husband and three sons.
