George Richard Craft was born Sept. 13, 1846 to Catherine Vines and David Jonathan Craft, Jr. He was one of seven children.

On April 3, 1858, he married Nanny Bell Kern (1858-1930) in Botetourt County, Va.

They had three children:
Richard J. Craft
Walter Cline Craft
Annie Katherine (Kate) Craft

George Craft passed away on August 10, 1930 in Botetourt County, Va. Interment is in Andrews Chapel Church Cemetery in Springwood, Va.
