MONROE

Another of Monroe's pioneers has passed away. Saturday afternoon William Collings died suddenly of heart failure. Mr. Collings father and mother joined he Mormon church in England and came across the plaons with the famous hand-cart company. They settled at Springville, where 90 years ago Mr. Collings was borm. They latter moved to Arizona and then to Monroe, where they have since resided. At the age of 22 Mr. Collings married Miss Genevieve Bean of Richfield. One year latter she died, leaving a baby girl. Six years latter Mr. Collings married Augusta Bohman. Mr. Collings has been engaged in the sheep raising and farming most of his life. One year ago, on account of ill health, Mr. Collings sold his farm and sheep and retured from active business. He leaved his widow, who has been a invalid since her children were small, and three daughters and one son, Mrs. May Montague of Salina, Mrs. Netta Hansen and Silvia Collings of Monroe and one son Earl Collings.

Funeral services were held at the family residence on Thursday at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Lyman Collings of Windell, Idaho and Mrs. Jane Collings Dall of Salt Lake were here to attend the funeral. Two other brothers, David, who is now in California, and George of Idaho, were not here. Mr. and Mrs. Montague of Salina were here also to attend the funeral.
