Funeral services for Mrs. Nita Joy Collings Hansen were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Monroe North LDS Ward. Mrs. Hansen died Monday, November 19, 1956, from a stroke.

She was born October 28, 1890, in Monroe, to William R. and Augusta Bohman Collings. She married Wilford Hansen, June 18, 1913, in the Manti Temple.

Nita was a member of the first graduating class of Monroe High School and later attended Snow College.

She was active in many LDS auxiliary organizations, having held executive, musical and teaching positions. She was counselor on the YLMIA Stake Board from 1930 to 1938 and was Ward MIA President. She was counselor in the Primary, organist and teacher in the Sunday School. She was class leader of the Relief Society for five years. She served on the Stake Board for nine years.

Nita was past President of the Sanpete-Sevier District of the Utah Federated Women's Clubs. At the time of her death she was class leader of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and members of the singing mothers.

Survived by son, Dr. W. Reeve Hansen, Louisville, Kentucky, four daughters, Mrs. Max G. (Elaine) Madsen, Mrs. Gerald E. (Joy) Poulsen, Mrs. Blaine (Genevieve) Wilcox, all of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Roger (Gwen) Jensen, Richfield, 19 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. W. D. (Sylvia) Musig of St. George.
