MRS. BIRDIE COLEMAN
CANTON - Services for Mrs. Birdie Spivey Coleman, 92, who died Saturday in a Waynesville hospital after a long illness, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Hayesville First Methodist Church.
The Rev. George Dalton, the Rev. Miles A. McLean and the Rev. Grover Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in Methodist Cemetery, with grandsons as pallbearers and grand daughters as flower bearers.
Mrs. Coleman was a native of Clay County, and had lived in Canton 14 years. she was the widow of John Coleman.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. George Eller, Mrs. Noel Fisher and Mrs. Halmond Cook of Canton, Mrs. May Holifield and Mrs. Doyle Coker of Hayesville and Mrs. Luther Wilson of Alexandria, La.; two sons, George of Canton and Robert of Hayesville; a sister Mrs. Henry Spence of Dalton, Ga.; 29 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The body will remain at Wells Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state an hour before services.
