Mrs. Cordelia Cobb, 79, Sun Prairie, widow of Dr. Earl C. Cobb, died Thursday at a Madison hospital. Mrs. Cobb, who taught at various rural schools throughout Wisconsin, as well as at Columbus and Neillsville, graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1888. She was a member of the Sun Prairie Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of that church, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Past Matrons Club, the 20th Century Women's Club, and the Garden Club. Surviving are two sons, Rollin of Owensboro, KY and Staff Sgt. Vernon of Wilmington, DE; five daughters, Mrs. A. E. Atwater of Lowell, Mrs. C. J. Dott, Markesan, Mrs. John Dahle of Lakeside, CT, and Mrs. Madge Hellenbrand and Mrs. C. H. Brown, both of Milwaukee, and a sister, Mrs. Evaline Miars of Cincinnati, OH. Funeral services will be held at the Sun Prairie Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. John S. Walker officiating. Burial will be in the village cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Tuschen Funeral Home in Sun Prairie until noon Saturday. WSJ 11/24/1944
