Death of the Rev. Dr. B. W. Chidlaw

The cable from London announces the death of the eminent Rev B W Chidlaw of Cleves, Ohio, His death occurred at Dolgelly, Wales, He and his wife sailed on the Aurinia a few weeks ago to visit to his native place Bala in Wales. Althrough the doctor was eighty -one years old he was remarkably preserved and as full of enthusiasm as a boy. He was first married in 1836 and settled a farm on the Great Miami, in Southern Ohio. His first wife died some time ago and last year he was married to Mrs Henrietta Manning a wealthy New York lady. But they continued to reside on the old Miami farm in Cleves. He looked after his farm but his great work was in the pulpit and the continued Sunday School. For over forty years he has been in the service of the American Sunday School Union in who School he visited al potions of the United States.
As a private orator he had a wide reputation and this was greatly enhanced by the personal love of enhanced people he came in contact with. He was a magnetic man, full of enthusiasm for any causes which he espoused. He was a loyal lover of his adopted country and upon the outbreak of war in 1861few men in his class did more to arouse enthusiasm for enthusiasm old flag then did Dr Chidlaw. He was made Chaplin of the Thirth-Nine Ohio Volunteers, and served with the regalement in regalement field regalement his failing health compelled his Resignation. His death will nowhere cause more sincere moaning then among his old soldiers friends with who he kept close relationship. Of Dr, Chidlaw it may be said a good man has gone, ripe in years, ripe in Christian experience, a man who has spent a whole lifetime in doing his best for his fellows, and making the world wiser and better for his living

Everything left to children and gave his real Esatate to grandson Benjamin.
Turns of the agreement at marriage that neither was to take share in the other property at there death according to prenuptial agreement
