Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late James Chambers and Grace Young.
She was the wife of Willie L. Alston, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Willie L. Alston; her children, Isaac Alston (Vicky), Willie F. Alston, Eric Alston, David Alston (Bonnie), Sara Alston-Edwards and Gloria Alston-Anthony (Frank); grandchildren whom she raised Maurice Treadwell Jr. and Marquise Alston; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Alston; and two sisters, Evelyn Steel and Jane Wicks-Tucker.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates St., Coatesville.
Interment will be in New Evergreen Cemetery.
