Ann was the daughter of Robert Cassidy and Charity Gibby. She married Samuel D. Butterworth on April 4, 1861. He fought in the Civil War. They had four children:

Annie, 1862-1862;

Blanche, born June 3, 1863; married Albert E. Moors in 1887; had 2 children, Estelle Hannah and Edward D.; Blanche died March 21, 1928;

Samuel, Jr., born September 9, 1869; married Josephine Brignall; was an architect and lived in Lansing, Michigan;

Alice M., born September 1872; married Howard M. King in 1897; He was superintendent of the Springfield, Massachusetts Municipal Water Department; Alice died 1943.
