Lois Morton, 70, wife of Ernest Morton, died April 26, 2005, in Lexington.
Born in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late William Grant Carter and Thelma Davis Carter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Desirae Kennedy, Versailles; three sons, Norman Morton and Carl Morton, Versailles, and the Rev. David Carter, Alabama; a sister, Ruby Howard, Versailles; a brother, Charles Johnson Brown, New York; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at Polk Memorial Baptist Church in Mortonsville by the Rev. Donald Townsend. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. (The Woodford Sun - 5 May2005)
