Moses Butterfield, Jr., settled upon the homestead farm, and still lives upon a portion of it. He md., Nov. 8, 1832, Elizabeth Demick, daughter of Ebenezer Davis, q. v., who d. Mar. 16, 1861; md. (2), May 16, 1868, Mrs. Martha Hamlin, b. Aug., 1824. Two children by first marriage --

Almas Sylvanus Butterfield has been for many years a successful merchant in the boot and shoe trade at Farmington. He married in 1861 Julia C. Bailey, born in Augusta, October 10, 1840.

Two children --

1. Fred Elmer, born August 8, 1862.

2. Gertrude Elizabeth, born February 27, 1864.
