I KILLED, 5 HURT IN 3 WRECKS HERE
WOMAN KILLED, MAN HURT AS CAR OVERTURNS HERE
Mrs. Mary Sebren Buffington, 33 year old Bastrop widowed mother of three children, was killed instantly after midnight Sunday when a car driven by James Murphy, 23, of Bastrop, went out of control, rolled over three times and crashed into a ditch. Murphy was seriously injured in the accident. Both victims were reportedly tossed from the vehicle. Mrs. Buffington received a broken neck and Murphy sustained a possible brain concussion and other injuries. The accident occurred on Highway 195 at Point Pleasant about a half mile west of Bastrop.

Funeral services for Mrs. Buffington, who was employed at a local cafeteria, were to be held at 3:30 pm Monday at the Blackwell and Golden Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Tilberry officiating. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery.
