Charles V. Bryson, Sr., 84, of Moravian Manor, Lititz, where he had been a resident since 2009, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George and Bertha Patton Bryson. He was married to the late Hilda A. Schwingenschlögl Bryson. He is survived by 3 daughters, Patricia A. (late Wayne) Stouffer, Ocala, FL, Hilde M. (William) McClearen, Denver, Kathryn E. (R. Scott) Adams, Lititz; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Bertha Gerlitzki, Lititz; 3 sisters-in-law, Blanche Bryson, Lancaster, Ilse Binder, Lititz and Ingrid Grünthaler, Germany. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles V., Jr.; a daughter, Lynn C. Bowers; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Charles was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in Okinawa. He worked for Permutit Company and retired from the Manheim Auto Auction. Charles was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz and the V.F.W. in Millersville and Lititz. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, coin collecting, traveling, playing cards, and watching the Phillies and Eagles.

Charles's Life Celebration Service will be held at Steinman Hall, Moravian Manor, Lititz on Thursday, Dec. 8th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Machpelah Cemetery, Lititz. Military Honors will be rendered by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Steinman Hall on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster Co., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
