Frank was only 3 years old when his father died in 1885 and was reared by his widowed mother alone until she remarried in 1889. In 1900 he married Julia Luzetta Hanks and they had nine children.
Luzetta died in a head-on automobile crash in Camden County on 25 September 1935, and Frank was badly injured but survived; he died a few years later on 20 June 1942. Both are buried at High Point Cemetery, Camden County, MO.
