Jack Raymond Boyd 83, Noblesville, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006.
Mr. Boyd was a salesman and owned several shoe stores. His memberships included Eastgate Christian Church, Logan Masonic Lodge #575, where he was a Past Master, and American Legion Post #129 in Greensburg, Indiana.
Mr. Boyd was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp, stationed in Paris.
His extensive volunteer work included Crop Walk, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, and Mended Hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Boyd and Nona Grimes Boyd; daughter, Gayle D. Herold; son-in-law James J. Lawhorn, II; one sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Smith Boyd; daughter, Nancy Kay Lawhorn; son-in-law Lew Herold; sister, Joan (Jack) Cochran; brother Thomas Boyd; grandson, James J. Lawhorn, III; granddaughter Jocelyn Lawhorn.
Services will be Tuesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. in Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington St. with visitation from 10 a.m. Rev. Bob Henning officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Eastgate Christian Church or the donor's favorite charity.
