Sandra “Darlene” Bowdler, 66, of Goshen, died late Monday evening, January 19, 2015 at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital after being diagnosed with lung cancer in Feb. 2014.

She was born April 5, 1948 in Athens, Tennessee, to Gilmer William and Myrtle May (Culberson) Corn.

On March 9, 2011 she married William Dicconson Bowdler, Jr. in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

He survives along with two daughters, Tara (Chris) Hessberger, of Coconut Creek, Florida, and Trisha (Mike) Fox, of Vero Beach, Florida; a step-daughter, Gala Bowdler, of Oakland, Maryland; four grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Linda) Corn, of Elyria, Ohio, and Doug (Rosemary) Corn, of Kennewick, Washington; and a sister, Claudette (Wayne) Giles, of Clanton, Alabama.

Sandra lived most of her life in Elyria, graduating from Elyria High School in 1966.

She worked as an ad manager for E.W. Scripts newspapers for 30 years before retiring in 2011 in Port Lucie, Fla.

After moving to Goshen in 2013, she attended First United Methodist Church, Goshen.

Darlene enjoyed sewing pillow cases and curtains, playing golf, and cooking. She will be remembered for making a “mean” filet mignon.

Friends may call two hours prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Reverends Ed and Brenda Fritz will officiate.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
