Mrs. Byrnie Reid Boone, 92, of Bartlesville, died at 5:20 P.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center.
Mrs. Boone was born on September 28, 1920 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the daughter of Jennie L. (Litherland) and Joseph Marshall Reid. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. She was married to Willard Boone on September 22, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mr. Boone was an FBI Special Agent and they made their home in New York, Ohio, Texas and Oklahoma City until moving to Bartlesville in 1967. Mr. Boone served as the District Attorney from 1970 to 1974 until entering private practice and Mrs. Boone had worked at Jane Phillips Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mr. Boone preceded her in death on September 16, 1996 and Mrs. Boone has continued her home in Bartlesville. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was active with the Salvation Army.
Survivors include her son-in-law, James E. Nye Jr. of Bartlesville, three grandchildren, Jason M. Nye and wife Benna of Sperry, Travis R. Nye of Bartlesville and Katie Matney and husband Josh of Bartlesville, and four great grandchildren, Paittan Nye, Cody Nye, Colton Matney and Avery Grace Matney. In addition to her husband she was preceded by her daughter, Melanie Boone Nye.
