Beverly I. Jackson, 87, formerly on North Racquette River Road, passed away Monday morning, September 28, 2015 at the St. Regis Nursing Home. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Services will be held on September 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Heather Stierheim presiding.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena, on Thursday October 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

Beverly was born on November 20, 1927 in Massena the daughter of Leon and Beatrice (Wright) Bombard and graduated from Massena High School. She married Lloyd “Red” Ashley on August 23, 1949 at Sacred Heart Rectory. Mr. Ashley predeceased her in 1973. She later married Elwyn G. “Bud” Jackson on June 9, 2004 at Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Jackson later predeceased her on February 21, 2014. Beverly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Massena.

She is survived by her five daughters, Cathy Marich of Massena, Susan Smith of Raleigh, NC, Denise Baxter of Massena, Mary Lynn Griffith of Massena and Joni and husband Joseph Catanzarite of Massena; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Jay and wife Gloria Bombard of Massena.

She was predeceased by a brother Gerald.

Beverly received an award for Volunteer of the Year from Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. She was a Literacy Volunteer for several years. In earlier years of SeaComm, Beverly worked as a clerk, with her husband “Red”, who was one of the first Treasurers; at one time she worked at Vale Haven as a Activities Director.

Arrangements are with the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
