Geraldine A. Bolt, 86 of Lincoln died at 7:25 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Geraldine was born February 8, 1918 in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Prunis "Buck" A. and Frances Rosetta "Rose" Lippert Finley.

Geraldine was a graduate of Ramsey Community High School. She married Obed L. Bolt, Jr. on May 25, 1937 in Potoka, IL and he preceded her in death on June 5, 1995.

Geraldine and her husband owned and operated Bolt's Radio & TV of Hanna City, IL for several years. She enjoyed gardening, canning and flowers. In her younger years she was an accomplished singer. Her family was of paramount importance to her and family gatherings were her heaven on earth. Geraldine was baptized a member of Ramsey Christian Church.

She was a member of Peoria County Farm Bureau and served on the Home Extension Board. She also served as a Grey Lady for the Red Cross at the Belwood Nursing Home. She attended the Hanna City Methodist Church in Hanna City where she and her husband resided for 48 years after moving from Ramsey, IL in 1942. Geraldine moved to Washington, IL in 1995 and to Springfield, IL in 1999. Since April 2001 she was a nursing home resident. She became associated with Faith Lutheran Church of Springfield, IL during her years in Springfield. She was very active in Democratic Politics.

She was also preceded in death by one son: Philip Brian Bolt, parents, six brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons: Gerald Leon (wife, Cynthia) Bolt of London Mills and Warren Wayne (wife, Aimee) Bolt of Marquette Heights, two daughters: Margaret A. (husband, Hugh) Wood of Springfield and Alice Marie (husband, Frank) Curless of Washington, IL., fifteen grandchildren: Alan (wife, Renee), Gary and Barbara Wood, Tamra (husband, Steve Chipman), Tina (husband, Randy Smith), Todd (wife, Lori) and Tye Bolt, James, Jeremy, Jonathan and Joseph Bolt, Eric, Amber, Andrea and Crista Curless, eight great grandchildren: Amanda, Devin, Darren, Trevor, CeaAnne, Shae, Zoe and Lindsay, one sister: Elossie Pummill of Redding, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Additional visitation will be from 12-1:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2313 Whittier Ave. Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church with Glen VanderKloot officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Ramsey Community Cemetery in Ramsey, IL.
