Stella Veda Bocock, age 92, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully in her sleep April 7, 1994. She was born February 11, 1902 to Walter and Joetta Askew of Foss, Oklahoma. After graduation at Oklahoma Southwestern State in 1924, Stella moved and became the first school teacher at Freedom, Oklahoma. She met and later married Harry Bocock in 1926 and taught until their only child, Walter Charles, was born in 1929. The couple moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1944 and began work at Tinker Air Force Base, where Stella was a supervisor of accounting before her retirement in 1972. She was a member of Wickline United Methodist Church and also enjoyed her involvement with many bridge organizations in both the Midwest City and Oklahoma City areas. Stella dedicated her life to her family and friends and was a servant to all. She will be missed for her unconditional love, her humor and her strength.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry; her son, Walter Charles; four brothers and one sister. She is survived by Glenn and Dorothy Askew of Amarillo, Texas, Joseph and Kerry Bocock of Oklahoma City, Michael and Robin Bocock of Oklahoma City and David Bocock of Fort Worth, Texas. Services will be held Sunday, April 10, 1994 at Rose Hill Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
