Rita D. Boatman, 64, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 in Duncan.
Graveside services will be held in the Marlow Cemetery on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Woods officiating. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
The family will receive visitors Monday evening, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rita was born Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1945, in Marlow, to Everett Mayes and Esie (Preston) Mayes. She grew up in the Bailey area and graduated from Bray High School. She lived in Duncan for the past 45 years. On Jan. 29, 1965, she married Harvey Boatman in Lawton.
Rita enjoyed doing crafts. She made dream weavers and other pieces of art. Rita also decorated shirts and jackets. Rita worked as a cashier for Chisholm Trail Casino for the past five years. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. She was a member of Bailey Baptist Church.
Survivors include: husband, Harvey Boatman of the home; daughter, Patsy Graham and husband Tracy of Duncan; 2 grandsons, Levi Graham of Duncan; Garrett Graham of Duncan; granddaughter, Misty Graham of Duncan; great-granddaughter, Madilynn Graham of Duncan; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Harvey Lee Boatman Jr., and 3 brothers Paul, Leroy, and Olen Mayes. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
