DAVID BLACK DEAD

David Black died of cancer at his home in Stanberry on Dec. 5, 1905. He was born in Ohio; served in the union army and came to Missouri soon after the war, settling out near Island City. He was for many years engaged in merchandising at Island City and King City, and was well known over the south and west part of the county. He moved a few years ago to Stanberry. Oct. 14, 1868, he was married to Alice Richards, who, with six children, survives this union.Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Coffey at the Christian church in King City on last Wednesday, after which the remains were taken charge of by Mr. Black's brethren of the Masonic Lodge, and the ritualistic service of the order was carried out at the grave. Mr. Black was a good business man and a good citizen.
