Simeon Betts, who died in 1888, was born 6 Mar 1830, in Crawford County PA, son of Abraham & Chloe Betts, the parents of 13 children: Johnson, Erastus, Nancy, Elizabeth, Simeon, Lorinda, William, Peter, Mary, Orena, Abram, Theodore & Leonard.
The parents reside in Minnesota. Our subject received a common-school education & was employed on a farm during his boyhood days. He was engaged in boating on the canal for 16 years. In 1865 he turned his entire attention to farming & was very successful.
