Rev. Bennett died at his home at Cureall, Saturday, December 31, at 2 o'clock, after a long illness. He had been in poor health for some time and his death was expected. His children from different points had been notified of his condition and came to be at his bedside when the end came, which was peaceful. He lived among his many friends here until he seemed one of us. He was pastor of the General Baptist church here and will be greatly missed by all for his religious work as well as a neighbor and friend. He leaves a wife and fifteen children to mourn his death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S.T. Proffitt and the body laid to rest in Cureall cemetery.
