Marvoline Behmer Lowry, 96, died January 20, 2017 after a short illness. Born July 16, 1920 to John Nichols Bollenbacher and Cleta Blanch (née Davidson) Bollenbacher. On September 14, 1940 she married J. Richard Behmer of Culver. He passed away on September 10, 1971. On October 6, 1984 she married Arnold "Sam" Lowry, who died on June 16, 1990. Marvoline spent her adult life on the Behmer Homestead Farm until she moved to Plymouth in 2003 due to health problems.

Music was always an important part of her life. With her father and brothers, she played for square dances in her pre-teen days and later in groups for various organizations and dances. She was a church pianist for over 80 years.

She's survived by three Children, Anne Behmer of Culver, IN, Linda (Billy) Bartlett of Henderson, Nevada and John Behmer of Granger, IN. Two Grandsons, Richard (Shara) Spicer of Wichita Falls, Texas and Craig (Melissa) Spicer of Argos, IN. and Anita Spicer grand daughter-in-law of Plymouth, IN. And 6 great grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Jessica and Emily Spicer of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Noah and Aaron Spicer of Argos, IN. Four Step-children, Samuel (Sheryl) Lowry from Spring Lake, Michigan, Andrew (Kathy) Lowry of Plano, Texas, Stuart (Renee) Lowry from Ferndale, Washington, Evan (Joyce) Lowry of LaPorte, IN. and Patricia Medrano of Plano, Texas. 11 Step grandchildren and 21 step great grandchildren. Surviving sisters-in-law Lenore Schaefer of Novi, Michigan, Betty Wagoner of Farmington, New Mexico and Julia Ward of Citrus Heights, California. Besides her parents and two spouses, she was preceded in death by a Grandson Robert Spicer. 2 brothers, Owen and Paul Bollenbacher and five sisters-in-law, Frances Schaefer, Margaret Baker, Helen Hess, Faye Bollenbacher and Emma Lou Bollenbacher.

Marvoline was a member of Hibbard Circle, Golden Key Club and Marshall County Home Demonstration Past President Club. She attended Sunrise Chapel. The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the (Behmer) Lowry family.

Funeral services will be held in her honor on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, Indiana 46563 with Cindy Flagg officiating. Burial will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
