Frank Walter Bean, son of Benjamin and Elinora Bean, was born on January 15, 1867, at Clinton, Iowa, and departed this life on April 12, 1933, at 8:30 p.m. at his home in Bunch, Iowa, at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 27 days. On March 3, 1887, he was married to Ida May McDonald. To this union were born five children, four daughters and one son: Mrs. Sylvia Stufflebeam and Walter Bean of Bunch, Mrs. Florence Richardson, Lamoni, Iowa, Mrs. Birdie Downing who passed away May 12, 1925, and Ruby who passed away at the age of two years and 10 months.
In 1916 he became converted to the faith of the International Bible Student's association and was one of Jehovah's faithful witnesses to the end. Time and again during his last sickness he restated his faith and his great desire to go to his Master.
Besides his wife and three children he is survived by 16 living grandchildren, two having preceded his death; one sister, Mrs. Birdie Workman of Grinnell, and one brother, Moses of Newton, Kan., and several nieces and nephews; besides a host of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held at the Bunch Christian church Thursday at 10:30 o'clock, the Rev. Dr. Shelton of Chariton conducting the services. Harl Gorden, Jess Cummins, Mrs. Pearl Quigley, Mrs. Charles Johnston and Eunice Cummins sang "Rock of Ages" and "The Rifted Rock" with Cleo Smith at the piano. Pallbearers were Reuben Coop, George Wright, Bert Kirk, Lafe and Add Paris, and Dave Glassburner. Burial was in Taylor cemetery.
A treasured one from us has gone;
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home
That no one else can fill.
