April 19, 1923 - December 6, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Donald Duncan Baxter, Jr., 89, died December 6, 2012 in Yukon, OK. He was born April 19, 1923 in Apperson, OK to Donald D., Sr. and Nina G. (Morse) Baxter. He graduated from high school in Winfield, KS. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from American Airlines after 26 years. He was a member of Quail Springs Baptist Church. He volunteered with the Gideons and was involved in Trucker's Chapel Ministry. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy J. Baxter. Survivors include his wife, Claudia F. Baxter of the home; children, Don Baxter III and wife Vickie of Locust Grove, OK, Jess W. Baxter and wife Sarah of OKC, Marti Burton and husband Barry of Yukon, OK; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be Sat., Dec. 8, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Graveside service will be Tues., Dec. 11, 11:00am in Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
