Alta Ballard, the 5 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ballard of Hull, died Tuesday of black diphtheria.
The little one was in Rock Valley just a week previous and was taken down only two days after returning home. Alta is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Boggess. Mrs. Ballard is also confined to her room and it feared that she has contracted the terrible disease.
