Maureen was born into a U.S. Air Force family. She started school in Germany and learned to speak German. When she returned to the states she had to learn to speak English all over again. She attended Bangor High School and went on to attend Husson College and study business. She began her only job with the Bar Harbor Times in 1977. Maureen loved her work and the people she worked with. She would look forward every spring to the "local" out-of-staters who would wave to her or stop in just to say "hi" and that they were back for the summer.
Maureen is survived by her mother, Barbara Baker; her sister, Cheryl Larson; and a nephew,
Troy Larson, all of Ellsworth; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and very good friends.
She is predeceased by her father, Gerald Baker; and her brother, James Baker.
There will be no viewing or funeral. Graveside services will be held at the Otter Creek Cemetery. (Republican Journal 7/18/2011)
