She was born on June 15, 1898, in Mendota, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Mathenius Arndt.
She married Edward A. Gross in Mendota in 1915, he died in 1947.
Gross was formerly employed as clerk by Stone's Newsstand and Spurgeon's Department Store. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle.
Survivors include son, John, Rochelle; sister, Clara Stimeling, Mendota; two grandchildren, Jack and Jim Gross; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
Services were today in Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle, with the Rev. Garry L. Briesacher, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial is in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Memorials to Hub City Senior Citizens.
