Memorial Service for Dorothy Fay Armstrong, 81, will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church. Graveside Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 in City of Lubbock Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Mrs. Armstrong was born March 19, 1928 to Earl and Verdie Malone in Portales, NM. She moved to Lubbock at the age of 7. Dorothy Fay attended Lubbock High School. She married James Don Armstrong on October 25, 1947. They lived mostly in the Lubbock area, where they farmed. Mrs. Armstrong took pride in raising all of her children and grandchildren. She was a believer and attended church every Sunday. Dorothy Fay joined Highland Baptist Church in 1972, where she was an active member. She moved to Amarillo in 1991 and became a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was an active member of The Hearts of Faith Sunday School Class and Silver Notes Choir. She worked as a seamstress and in child care for many years.

Survivors include four sons, Curtis Armstrong of Idalou, TX, Auborn Armstrong of Corpus Christi, TX, Robert Armstrong and wife, Renee of Lockney, TX, and Scott Armstrong and wife, Mindy of Amarillo; two daughters, Donna Strange and husband, Ken of Amarillo, TX, and Mary Proffitt of Amarillo, TX; one Brother, Vernon Malone of Lafayette, LA; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
