Arthur E. Anderson
Word has been received here of the death Sunday night in a hospital at Reed City, Mich., of Arthur E. Anderson, of Irons, Mich., a former Valparaiso policeman.
Anderson was 66 years of age. He retired from Valparaiso police force in 1947 due to ill health. Until a year ago he resided at 257 Greenwich street, selling it at that time to Mr. and Mrs. James Bigelow. His wife, Frances, preceded him in death three years ago.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Held, of Chicago, by a former marriage, and two grandchildren.
For the past 10 years Anderson had suffered from asthma and it was this chronic condition that forced Mr. and Mrs. Anderson to move from Valparaiso. He spent the recent holidays in Chicago with his daughter and family, and after his return entered the hospital.
Funeral services will be held in Valparaiso, and will be announced as soon as further word is received. Burial will take place in Graceland cemetery beside his late wife.
