Clyde "Ben" Osman Ames was b 6 March 1887, Vinalhaven, the s/o Orrin Bradford Ames & Etta Estelle Carver. He d 6 May 1968, Rockland, Me.

Ben married twice. He first married Bina Cora Stone on 14 May 1910, North Haven. Bina was b 7 Aug 1889, North Haven, the d/o Hiram Packard Stone & Lucy Etta Beverage. She d 1 July 1921, North Haven.

Ben & Bina had two children.
1. Lucy Ella Frances Gardner Ames (adopted); 10 June 1918, Ellsworth, Ma - 14 July 2002, Concord, Ma
2. Hope Jeanette Ames; 2 Jan 1920, North Haven - 13 June 1957, Rockland, Me.

Ben married 2nd Lottie M Calderwood on 22 July 1922, Vinalhaven. Lottie was b 22 Aug 1879, Vinalhaven, the d/o Chelsea Calderwood & Annie Barbara Leadbetter. She d 8 Jan 1967, Bangor, Me.

In 1910, Bina and Leon are not residing with their father & step mother on North Haven. They are, instead, living with their grandparents, Edward & Lucy Stone. Bina is 20 years old and Leon is age 22.

In 1920, he is a private family boatman on North Haven. The census lists that Lucy is adopted. They are residing next door to his wife's brother, Leon Beverage Stone.

In 1922, Clyde Ames was paid $9 for posting warrant & collecting dog licenses for North Haven. He was also reimbursed $8.75 for the "George Foss case."

Death Record: Bina Cora Ames died on 1 July 1921 on North Haven at the age of 31 years 11 mos 24 days from diabetic acidosis. Born on North Haven on Aug 7, 1889, she was the daughter of Hiram P Stone (born North Haven, fisherman) and Lucy Beverage (born North Haven). She was the wife of Clyde O Ames.
