She emigrated to Thornhill, Canada at the age of six years. She was married to Fisher Allison of Cumberland County, England in 1837. To this union thirteen children were born, seven of whom survive her. In 1840 she moved to Milledgeville, Illinois where she resided sixty years. She survived her husband twenty-six years.
Mrs. Allison is the last survivor of the first M. E. Church organization at Milledgeville and is also thought to be the last survivor of the South Elkhorn church organization. She was a consistent member of the M. E. church for 72 years. Isaac VanBuskirk, her father was a soldier in the war of 1812.
