I was born Oct 6 1947 in Galesburg IL to John Wesley Holt and Dorothy Darlene Devlin. I always had a mild curiosity about genealogy but after retiring in 2013 began devoting more time to it and another interest, gardening. Another favorite pastime is enjoying the '50s and '60s music of my youth. I put together 10 cds of music for a recent HS reunion and it was very well received by my classmates. I still love hearing those old songs.

My genealogical research centers primarily around Holts and Allisons on Dad's side, and Devlins and Munsons on Mom's side. Right now my main interest is finding the graves of my great grandparents Frank and Sophia Munson, who supposedly are in Woodhull IL Cemetery but I haven't been able to verify that. I suspect they may have been returned to Sweden for burial but I don't know how to research there. Their children were Martha, Della, Walter and Florence. Martha and Della (married names Devlin and Peterson, respectively) are in Rio IL Baptist Cemetery. Martha was my maternal grandmother.

My other quest is finding great great grandfather Patrick Devlin. I think he emigrated from Ireland to the U.S. and settled in Central IL (Virginia area). His wife was Roseanne (sp?) and she may have worked as a housekeeper in that area. Their son, Frank Andrew Devlin, rests in Rio IL Baptist Cemetery. His son Herman was my maternal grandfather.
