News has been received in Bluefield of the death of Judge L. B. Allen, 84. which occurred at 6:30 Monday evening, at his home at Salem, Va., as result of infirmities of age. Judge Allen had been ill for some time, and suffered a stroke of total paralysis Monday afternoon. He had four previous partial strokes.
Judge Allen Is survived by his widow and the following children Mrs. Henry Kendrlck and Mrs. L. H. Layne, Bluefleld; Norman Allen, Roanoke, formerly of this city; and Mrs. E. L. Wright, of Norfolk, Va., and Seward Allen, Salem, Va., a son by his second marriage.
Mrs. Layne left for Salem, Monday in response to message announcing her father's critical condition. Mrs. Kendrick will leave this morning, and will be joined by Mr. Kendrlck later for the funeral services.
Judge Allen lived in Bluefleld about two years.
