Affidavits of their parents Charles Allen and Sebastian Ritner [said to be step-father, and brother of Julia's father John Ritner] secured Polk County, OR, marriage license on 28 Dec 1863 for the marriage of Joseph Allen of Benton County, OR, to Julia Ann Ritner of Polk County, OR. They were married 1 Jan 1864 at the house of Sebastian B. Ritner in Polk County by Isaac Miller MG, witnessed by Lewis L. Nannum and Clinton Arnold.

In 1870 and 1880, Joseph Allen, Julia and children are in Kings Valley, Benton County, OR.

27 June 1892, W.L. Price of Benton Co. OR, attested for a Benton County marriage license that he knew Julia Ann Allen age 21 [sic] and Richard Dunn age 21 [sic]; and on 27 June 1892 they were married by Rev. Thos Yost, witnessed by Sarepta Price and Willard L. Price at Kings Valley.

1900 census shows Julia and children Reatha and Thomas with Richard Dunn in Benton County, OR.

1910 census Julia Dunn age 60 is still with Richard in Benton County.

In 1913 Richard died. He was a drinking man and his death certificate states he died divorced. His obit names 2 of his 7 living step-children, Link and Thomas; and he leaves none of his estate to Julia.

1920 census taken January 1920 has Julia Dunn age 77 in Santa Clara Township, Lane County, OR, in the hh of daughter Reatha Simpson.

Joseph Allen lived until 27 August 1920. He died in Linn County, Oregon, per death index; original not viewed.

Julia Allen died 5 May 1926 in Linn County, Oregon, giving name Julia Allen, widow of J.W. Allen, per informant daughter Mrs. D.H. Simpson of Albany, OR, who declares Julia's parents were John Ritner born Switzerland and S. Fielding born PA. Death cert gives birth 1847, headstone says 1848, 1900 census says 1848.

Julie Allen is buried next to Joseph with matching headstones.
