He worked for Chevron Oil Co. for many years until his retirement. He served as New Mexico District Superintendent for the Churches of God in Christ. When his sons played baseball, Alfred coached them. He was an avid sports fan and bowled several 300 games. He was a loving husband and father.
He served as pastor for Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Flossie Alexander of the home; four sons, Calvin Soloman Alexander and wife Manuela of El Paso, Texas, Alfred Lee Alexander, Jr. and wife Brenda of Monahans, Texas, Billy O. Alexander and wife Earlease of Denver, Colorado and Donald Alexander and wife Tonya of Dallas, Texas; two daughters Loretta Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, and Donya Parks and husband Ricky of Hobbs; one brother, Billy Joe Alexander of Dallas, Texas; one aunt, Bessie Mae Keeton of Houston, Texas; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosie and Meaturdee Alexander, his first wife, Mae Pearl Alexander, daughter JoAnn Nix and sister Juanita McGee.
