She was born April 13, 1920 in Peoria to Fred William Adkinson and Ethel Blanch (McGrew) Adkinson. She married DeWitt Clinton Coates, May 25, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa.
She is survived by one brother, Charles (Honey) Adkinson; her children, Sharon K.(Tom) Rakestraw and Edward W. (Mary) Coates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWitt Clinton Coates; two brothers, Fred W., Harry J.; and two sons, Ronald L. and Gary L.
Cremation rites have been accorded with interment of ashes at Springdale Cemetery.
