Passed away at the home of his daughter Mrs. Julius Scharnhorst. His wife Meta Abbenseth predeceased him.

In addition to Mrs. Scharnhorst his daughter Mrs. Anna Dean and his son John Abbenseth survived to mourn Mr. George Herman Abbenseth.
