Andrew J. Alexander was born in Eagle Grove August 9th 1906 and died Nov. 29th at 5 o'clock p. m. after an illness of about two weeks following an injury received while playing at school.

All was done by loving parents and skilled physicians to prevent the sad tragedy but Providence decreed otherwise and the little spirit was called to the heavenly world after much suffering heroically and uncomplaining endured.

The funeral was held at the Baptist church Sunday at 2 o'clock and the interment followed in Rose Hill cemetery. The pallbearers were Paul Kubitscheck, George Howell, Percy Badley and Jonas Jorstad. There were many floral tributes from friends and from the Baptist and Congregational Sunday schools and the Woodman lodge. Among those present at the funeral were Mrs. Jas. Larson of Sexton, aunt of Mrs. Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Claude, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Claude, Mr. and Mrs Fred Helmick and Mrs. A. Mourlam of Woolstock.

Little Andrew leaves his parents, and two sisters, Joy and Gladys, one half sister, Mrs. Will Claude, and one-half brother George Alexander of Jackson Minn. The sympathy of the entire city goes out to the bereaved family and Mr. and Mrs. Alexander wish to express their heartfelt appreciation of the many, kindnesses, and the generous services of help and sympathy in this great affliction.

Death entered the O. D. Alexander home last Friday at 5:00 p. m. and removed Andrew J., the promising son of six years of age, and left the parents with sad and aching hearts. On Friday Nov. 15th, the little boy was at play near the Methodist church and parsonage, and he sustained a fall, striking his right side upon a ragged stone that had been left because of the repairing of the church wall. The flesh was black and blue, and he suffered some little pain, but he was able to go to school on Monday morning. He continued going to school Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but during one of these days, he either fell or was thrown while at play, sustaining added injury to his injured side, and Thursday after school he made his way home with much pain and feebleness. All was done that medical skill could do, but he died Friday as above stated.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Baptist church, Rev. D. P. Odell preaching a very tender and sympathetic sermon. Floral contributions were sent by the Baptist and Congregational Sunday schools, and by numerous friends.

Andrew was born Aug. 9, 1906, and was a boy of a bright and lovable disposition. He will be greatly missed in the home, but the family are resigned to the will of Him who said, "Suffer the little children to come unto Me."

Besides the father and mother, two sisters, Gladys and Joy, a half sister, Mrs. Will Claude of Woolstock, a half-brother, George of Jackson, Minn., are left to mourn his untimely death. Others from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. Alexander's sister, Mrs. James Larson of Sexton, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Claude, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Claude, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helmick and Mrs. Mourlain, of Woolstock. Neighbors and friends were unstinted in their assisting the family in the hour of their sadness and Mr. and Mrs. Alexander are very thankful and grateful for their help and sympathy.
